RSAF offers a variety of workshops for all ages.
Schedules will be shared here along with registration information.
Learn to make paper using materials and equipment you have at home. Handmade paper may be used for Notecards, Place cards, Notes to identify dishes on a buffet, Jewelry, Collage, and other Art projects.
Workshop will be held on Saturday, July 15th from 10AM-3PM (Lunch Break 12-1)
Location for this workshop is in the RSAF Studio 101 / Old Rock School, Valdese, NC (Park and enter on the east side of the building.)
Cost of the workshop is $20.00 for members/$25.00 for non-members. The maximum number of participants is 10.
Please bring:
An apron or extra shirt - You will get wet! Something rigid (a board, baking sheet, etc.) at least 1’ sq. to take wet paper sheets home on

Title of Camp: Art Around the World
Instructor: Janice Harris
Description of art instruction:
Join us for a fun-filled week as we travel around the world and learn about various artists and art. Students will create original art from Africa, Japan, Italy, and Mexico in a variety of mediums on this journey of learning.
Third through Fifth Grades (Maximum number of campers 10)

Title of Camp: Creative Hands & Hearts
Instructor: Betty Ann Winters
Description of art instruction:
Spend a week playing with twigs, rocks, yarn, flowers, glue & paint ~learn new skills and make fun, beautiful artwork! Paint Rocks, learn to Straw Weave, make a Mobile, Do more than just Write on Paper, and create with Pressed Flowers.
Fee: $60.00 for the week.

Title of Camp: Famous Artist Camp

Description of art instruction:
From printmaking to abstract painting students will design their own masterpieces influenced by famous artists in this jam-packed week of art camp. Pollock, Van Gogh, Kandinsky, Klimt and Kusama are just a few we will explore.
Third through Fifth Grades (Maximum number of campers 10)

Title of Camp: Nurturing the Power of Your Child’s Imagination 2
Instructor: Dr. Tim Boyd
Description of art instruction:
Natural materials and the camper's imagination will be used to create the works. Some of the materials used will be discovered on short walks around the Old Rock School; others will be provided. Instructions and information provided will help your camper to “think outside the box “.
Fee: $60.00 for the week.
